And now I discuss the age-old question (actually, it's not nearly that old of a question): Where will the next Elder Scrolls game be? Actually, this is my take on where it should be, not where I think it will be. After all, I'll probably be wrong. But if you'd like to hear my opinion, then read on.
So where do I think the next Elder Scrolls game should be? Elsweyr, home of the Khajiit. There are a lot of reasons for this, but I am a bit biased. In all the Elder Scrolls games I've played, from Morrowind to Skyrim (I know, I know, I'm not a hardcore TES fan - I still haven't played Arena or Daggerfall), I've started my playthrough as a Khajiit.
The Khajiit are so different from the other races in Tamriel. I suppose you could claim that the Argonians are, too, but the Khajiit have far different speech mannerisms and personalities. While their unique speech patterns might be cultural, rather than racial, it's still interesting. They've got incredibly interesting personalities as well. Just look at Inigo .
But the real reason it would be amazing to have an Elder Scrolls VI: Elsweyr, is because of what Elsweyr is. (In case you don't know, it's a massive desert/jungle type landscape.) Even back in Oblivion, modders saw the potential beauty of Elsweyr . And now, in Skyrim, we have fantastic mods like the Moonpath to Elsweyr. If you play through them, you can see how amazing the landscape was, even in Oblivion.
When the next TES game comes out a few years from now, I can only imagine how much better the graphics will be. Set in a dense jungle with swathes of desert, The Elder Scrolls VI: Elsweyr could be an incredible game.
So what do you think? Do you agree with me, or do you think other locations would be better? Why? Or do you think Bethesda should revisit one of the old locations?
